When I found water coming from the bottom of our air handler, I started searching for a trustworthy vendor to service it. After reading multiple reviews and hearing from neighbors, I decided to call Hometown HVAC and Pat was able to come out the next day to take a look at our unit. When Pat arrived, he was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He diagnosed our issue (freezing coils due to a pinhole leak) and confirmed my previous research that replacement of the sixteen year old unit was the ideal option. At no point in the process did Pat try to sell me anything. He presented me with options and educated me so I could make an informed decision. This is an absolute relief compared to the high-pressure sales approach of so many others where the replacement becomes an opportunity to upsell additional components. We agreed that the system needed to be replaced and he got us on the schedule for the following week. During this process, Pat proposed that the orientation of our unit be changed by 180 degrees to remove an unnecessary bend that was robbing our system of velocity. He also showed me mathematically how the return that was originally installed was undersized and created a constriction in the system. On the day of installation, the installers, Will and James, arrived on time and like Pat, they were also polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They had our old units replaced and ducting fixed in about six hours. The airflow has noticeably improved with the temperature in the house feeling more uniform regardless of which level is being occupied. I am very glad that I found Hometown HVAC and have already recommended them to my neighbor as they mentioned they want to do some HVAC work but don't have a vendor yet. Pat and his crew did a great job on our system and we will be calling whenever we have HVAC needs.
